The last load of dirty clothes were in the washer...clean clothes were almost folded, so I decided to "rest" my eyes before finishing packing for our getaway to Hilton Head. My sleep was cut short as my husband said, "Honey, wake up I need to talk to you. " In that moment my heart sunk as I found out my dad had passed away just minutes before. As we rushed to get to my mom and dad's house, many emotions filled my heart, but one surpassed them all, GRATITUDE. I was thankful that in a time of many uncertain things, one thing was certain, my Dad Loved Jesus Christ.
2 Timothy 4:7-8 says...
7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: 8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
You see, God has called us to GO (make disciples and tell others about Jesus), FIGHT, knowing that with God we are victorious, and when all is said and done we WIN , the greatest prize, eternity with Jesus Christ. My dad fought the good fight, and I believe today he stands in the presence of God knowing he has been given the greatest gift of all. I know today as you read this, that my Dad's greatest prayer would be that you come to know Jesus Christ as well. I watched him over the course of my life as he loved people to Jesus. I pray today that you realize that this life that we have been given to be good stewards of, is just a piece of what God has for you. I pray today that your faith is encouraged and that God gives you the zeal to fight the good fight. Go all in for Jesus today. GO...FIGHT...WIN
